Call for PhD applications, University of Melbourne Full Scholarships are available for PhD students in the department of Computing and Information in the University of Melbourne, which is the top University in Australia (ranking 33th by THES and 44th by SJTU world wide). Melbourne is voted as the most livable city around the world continuously for several years and Australia has a strong economy. Successful students will start in 2016. The students will perform research in hot areas in data management and data mining. Students with good math or algorithm background are preferred. PhD in the University of Melbourne usually takes 3.5-4 years. The scholarship is about AU$2100/month. The average living cost in Melbourne is 800/month. English test is required, either TOEFL or IETLS. The requirement is on this website, see the requirements for the Melbourne School of Engineering: Average undergrad GPA should be higher than 82% or equivalent.
