We claim: 1. Aprocess for manufacturing methyl chloride consisting essentially of: (A) contacting hydrogen chloride With at least a stoichio metric amount of methanol split into at least two portions With a first portion comprising about 60 to 95 percent of the methanol added to the process in the presence of a ?rst liquid medium at a temperature in the range of about 115° C. to 170° C. to form a gaseous mixture containing methyl chloride, and (B) contacting the gaseous mixture With a second metha nol portion and adding to a second liquid medium at a temperature in the range of about 100° C. to 160° C., and (C) recovering the methyl chloride. 2. A process according to claim 1, Where the amount of methanol is split into multiple portions With the ?rst portion comprising about 78 to 90 percent of the methanol added to the process. 3. A process according to claim 1, Where the hydrogen chloride is contacted With at least a stoichiometric amount of methanol in the presence of the ?rst liquid medium at a temperature in the range of about 120° C. to 135° C. 4. A process according to claim 1, Where the gaseous mixture is contacted With the second methanol portion and added to the second liquid medium at a temperature in the range of about 110° C. to 125° C. 5. Aprocess according to claim 1, Where the ?rst methanol portion is partially vaporiZed and fed to the process. 幫忙翻一下 謝謝 |
