PhD Student Position in Mechanical Behavior of Structural Materials at the City University of Hong Kong Contact information: Dr. Xinrui Niu Xinrui.niu@cityu.edu.hk Research website: https://www.niusresearchgroup.org A PhD student position is available in Fall 2017 in the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong with research direction of Materials Science and/or Biomechanics. The interested student could contact Dr. Niu at xinrui.niu@cityu.edu.hk ASAP for consideration. Requirements: • B.S. or M.S. in Materials Science, Engineering Mechanics, Applied Physics, Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry and other related engineering and scientific fields. • An overall GPA not less than 80/100 for the top 985 universities, 82.5/100 for 985 universities, 85/100 for 211 universities. (不包括政治和體育類課程  )• Fulfill the language requirement: a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based) is required; or an overall band score of 6.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or College English Test Band 6 score no less than 490. Additional information: • Monthly Stipend: 15900 HKD; • The candidate is expected to work on research topics such as: biomaterials, biomechanics, bio-mimetic design, 3D-printing of novel structures, nanocomposites, nano-materials and nano-mechanics; • The City University of Hong Kong is rising rapidly in the recent decade, especially in the engineering regime. 其實(shí)所有的申請(qǐng)進(jìn)來(lái)之后要到一月份才會(huì)被開(kāi)會(huì)討論（因?yàn)?2月份各種放假嘛；注意，香港這邊春節(jié)只有3天假噢。圣誕新年甚至Easter佛誕這都是節(jié)日噢。）。所以只要那之前提交的申請(qǐng)，又有導(dǎo)師向上推薦，都會(huì)被考慮的。所以老師們好多都不太知道系統(tǒng)網(wǎng)站給申請(qǐng)人看的那個(gè)deadline。比如今天你不說(shuō)，我就不知道。  對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)，就是這學(xué)期終于結(jié)束啦，卷子也改完了，就該貼廣告招學(xué)生了。我的印象里面12月初這個(gè)是Hong Kong Fellowship的。 |
