Physical Review期刊定位與評(píng)述 已有2人參與

APS除了傳統(tǒng)的Physical Review Letters (PRL), Physical Review A-E期刊外,最近幾年陸續(xù)推出了Physical Review X (PRX), Physical Review Applied (PRApplied) 和Physical Review Fluids (PRFluids), 今年又將推出Physical Review Materials(PRMaterials)。根據(jù)雜志定位和scope,我將他們分為三檔: (1)第一檔 PRX "Physical Review X (PRX): online-only, fully open access, peer-reviewed journal that aims to publish, as timely as possible, exceptional original research papers from all areas of pure, applied, and interdisciplinary physics. " PRX的定位是高于PRL的,且scope比PRL更廣,涵蓋基礎(chǔ)物理、應(yīng)用物理和交叉物理,每年文章量200篇左右,是開源期刊且文章不限篇幅,今年IF會(huì)超過(guò)12,看來(lái)APS是想把PRX打造成為能與nature physics競(jìng)爭(zhēng)的旗艦刊物; (2)第二檔 PRL和PRApplied "Physical Review Letters (PRL): the premier APS journal for current research, providing rapid publication of short reports of important fundamental research in all fields of physics. PRL provides its diverse readership with weekly coverage of major advances in physics and cross-disciplinary developments." "Physical Review Applied (PRApplied): an online-only journal dedicated to publishing the highest quality research across all aspects of experimental and theoretical applications of physics, including their interactions with other sciences, engineering, and industry" PRL無(wú)疑是APS的主導(dǎo)期刊,其scope主要覆蓋基礎(chǔ)物理,最近的文章量減少到每年2500篇左右,預(yù)測(cè)其IF會(huì)有一定上升,以后可能會(huì)穩(wěn)定在8~10之間;而PRApplied填補(bǔ)了APS在應(yīng)用物理領(lǐng)域的空白,定位于發(fā)表應(yīng)用物理的最高水平文章,每年250篇文章左右,預(yù)測(cè)今年IF會(huì)超過(guò)5且未來(lái)兩三年仍有較大上升空間,最終IF可能會(huì)接近并超過(guò)PRL。 (3)第三檔 PRA/B/C/D/E/Fluids/Materials PRA-E都是各自領(lǐng)域的頂級(jí)雜志,但是由于發(fā)文量都很大,所以除了PRD外,IF都低于4。新推出的PRFluids發(fā)文量較少,每年不超過(guò)300篇;預(yù)測(cè)即將推出的PRMaterials也會(huì)采用同樣的策略,用較小的發(fā)文量來(lái)提高文章質(zhì)量和IF。 另外,2016年中科院JCR分區(qū)將PRX, PRL, PRApplied, PRD分為一區(qū),PRA, PRB, PRC分為二區(qū),PRE分為三區(qū)。 [ Last edited by mawenlong on 2017-2-28 at 11:26 ] |

PRL的影響力毋庸置疑,現(xiàn)在也確實(shí)是APS的旗艦期刊,但如果PRX的IF持續(xù)走高,最好的工作會(huì)應(yīng)該會(huì)慢慢轉(zhuǎn)移到PRX上。IF雖然不是唯一標(biāo)準(zhǔn),但卻是衡量雜志成功的重要標(biāo)準(zhǔn),或許正是受到了nature physics和nature communications等期刊高IF的沖擊,APS才意識(shí)到了PRL的潛在危機(jī),削減PRL的文章量,并推出開源期刊PRX與之抗衡。PRX剛推出的時(shí)候,我們以為它只是PRA或PRB的精選版,遠(yuǎn)不能與PRL相比,但是這幾年確迅速成為頂級(jí)雜志,其中高IF是重要原因。而PRApplied也在走與PRX類似的路線,在創(chuàng)刊初期通過(guò)較少文章量來(lái)達(dá)到高IF, 雖然現(xiàn)在還不能PRL的影響力相比,但是現(xiàn)在上面的文章質(zhì)量已經(jīng)很高,預(yù)測(cè)未來(lái)會(huì)成為與PRL互補(bǔ)的頂級(jí)期刊。 |

PRApplied文章的總體定位是 “Physical Review Applied publishes high-quality papers that bridge the gap between engineering and physics, between industry and academia, and between current and future technologies.The Editors of Physical Review Applied encourage the submission of research that significantly advances the field of applied physics. Specifically, papers should: (i) Be forward thinking and provide a clear vision for future directions in applied physics, either in physical understanding or in technology. (ii) Present a qualitative, and not merely a quantitative or incremental, advance over prior work. (iii) Interest a large group of physicists and those using physics to make progress in other fields.” PRApplied的文章分為L(zhǎng)etters,Rearch articles和Review三種,定位分別如下: “Letters are expected to be of the quality of a paper published in Physical Review Letters. Research Articles must, at a minimum, be at the level of a good article in other Physical Review journals. For Review Articles, we seek articles that will identify and elaborate on important developing directions in applied physics.” |
