| The ionic liquid NpmimBF4 was synthesized from methyl imidazole and 3 - chloro-1 - propanol, and grafted and immobilized onto FDU-15. This resulted in the successful preparation of the organic mesoporous catalyst NpmimBF4-FDU. Its structure was preliminarily characterized by related testing approaches, and its activity on hydrolysis of propylene carbonate (PC) was investigated. The results showed that the catalyst effectively catalyzed hydrolysis of propylene carbonate into 1,2 - propylene glycol (PG). When the hydrolysis was conducted with a concentration of 4% (wt) of the catalyst at 80℃ for 2 hours, PC conversion efficiency was greater than 99%, while PG selectivity was greater than 99%.The catalyst could be reused, after simple separation, for five times while its activity did not change much. We also conducted preliminary investigation of the catalytic mechanism of hydrolysis of PC into PG. |

Results showed that this catalyst is effective to catalyze propylene carbonate(PC) into 1,2- propylene glycol(PG).With 4% weight of the catalyst, temperature of 80℃ and reaction hours of 2h,conversion percentage of propylene carbonate(PC) is over 99%.With simple separation, the catalyst can be used 5 times meanwhile the activity variation is low.
