The general model is derived from a typical subcooler cycle, and then generalized to other cycles by employing an “input domain”. The “input domain” is presented with a figure that employs an inter-stage subcooling parameter as the x-axis and the high-stage compressor suction refrigerant specific enthalpy and the injection refrigerant specific enthalpy as the y-axis, which provides well understanding of the differences and relations among the selected eight types of inter-stage configurations. The modeling results of some typical examples show that, the general model is capable of performance comparison among different types of cycles, refrigerant selection or operational analysis. With additional calculations of the subcooling parameter, evaporating and/or condensing pressure, the general model can be extended to other detailed forms. |
