全州縣位于廣西東北部，地處湘桂走廊，素有“廣西北大門”之稱，全州縣轄9個(gè)鎮(zhèn)、7個(gè)鄉(xiāng)、2個(gè)民族鄉(xiāng)。全州歷史悠久，自然資源豐富，文化底蘊(yùn)深厚，縣境內(nèi)自然景色和人文景觀眾多，擁有眾多名勝古跡。自秦代建制至今已有2000多年，有享譽(yù)南國(guó)天池之美稱的天湖，有十里峽谷一線天的炎井溫泉，有三江相匯而一洲獨(dú)居的三江口風(fēng)光，更有建寺1200多年、著名的“楚南第一禪林”湘山寺、龍巖洞、燕窩樓、語錄山、玫瑰巖等50多處。全州名人輩出，古代有石濤大師等，當(dāng)代名人有蔣淑玉、盤文波、蔣欽揮等。
全州區(qū)位優(yōu)勢(shì)獨(dú)特，境內(nèi)交通便利，湘桂鐵路、322國(guó)道、泉南高速公路貫通全縣南北，在建的廈蓉高速公路橫貫東西，特別是湘桂高鐵建成通車，全州進(jìn)入高鐵時(shí)代，將給全州的經(jīng)濟(jì)社會(huì)發(fā)展帶來深刻的變化。公路有G72國(guó)家高速（泉南高速）、G322國(guó)道等主干線，可南下華南沿海，北達(dá)中原各地。水運(yùn)方面，境內(nèi)湘江水運(yùn)溝通長(zhǎng)江、珠江兩大水系，交通十分便利。
全州地處中亞熱帶季風(fēng)氣候區(qū)，雨量充沛，日照充足，土地肥沃，適宜多種農(nóng)作物生長(zhǎng)，發(fā)展農(nóng)、林、牧、漁各業(yè)得天獨(dú)厚。境內(nèi)盛產(chǎn)大米、小麥、玉米，食用菌等，素有“桂北糧倉(cāng)”的美稱，是全國(guó)商品糧生產(chǎn)基地縣、全國(guó)食用菌優(yōu)秀基地縣。全縣形成了雜交水稻制種、柑桔、金槐、蔬菜、油菜、大蒜、生豬、牛羊等科技示范基地，是全國(guó)生豬調(diào)出大縣和廣西無公害水果生產(chǎn)基地縣，2014年獲得“中國(guó)金槐之鄉(xiāng)”稱號(hào)
全州農(nóng)副產(chǎn)品品種多，產(chǎn)量大，聞名遐邇的“全州三辣”：生姜、大蒜、辣椒，產(chǎn)量居廣西各縣之首；柑桔、紅瓜子、花生、茶葉、銀杏等頗負(fù)盛名，為傳統(tǒng)出口產(chǎn)品。特別是全州禾花魚，史載為朝廷貢品，全縣每年禾花魚產(chǎn)量可達(dá)1000噸左右，稻田養(yǎng)魚為廣西之最。此外，還盛產(chǎn)桃李、馬蹄、葡萄、優(yōu)質(zhì)棗、全州蜜梨等。
醫(yī)療保健業(yè)，全縣衛(wèi)生事業(yè)發(fā)展?fàn)顩r良好，積極開展醫(yī)療衛(wèi)生體制改革，提高醫(yī)護(hù)人才素質(zhì)，改善醫(yī)療設(shè)備條件，目前在建的縣人民醫(yī)院門診住院大樓，全縣現(xiàn)有縣級(jí)公立醫(yī)院3家，基層醫(yī)療衛(wèi)生機(jī)構(gòu)19家，私立醫(yī)院3家，為縣內(nèi)外提供多元化醫(yī)療服務(wù)，滿足人民群眾醫(yī)療需求。
