為什么這句話中...the longing for love,the search for knowledge都有"the",而unbearable pity...前卻沒有"the"?

前兩個(gè)是一般抽象事物名詞，第三個(gè)是人的主觀感情，前面可以認(rèn)為省略了my,不能加the!這是我的理解!
加了 冠詞<不管是a 還是the>的pity的含義是：可惜，遺憾 It's a pity he missed the opportunity to travel abroad.
