Two post-doctoral fellow positions dedicated to OLED research are available at the State Key Lab on Advanced Display and Optoelectronics Technologies, HKUST. One post will be focused on OLED material and device study and the other one will be responsible for OLED manufacturing process development. These two positions will be co-supervised by Prof Ching W. Tang and Prof Hoi-Sing Kwok.

The applicants should have 1) a PhD degree in chemistry, physics or a related discipline, 2) strong OLED research background, 3) proficiency in oral and written English.

Candidates for material and device study should have good knowledge and experience in photochemistry, electrochemistry, and OLED device physics. Candidates are also expected to be proficient in thin film characterization and chemical analysis. Skills in theoretical calculation of organic semiconductors and chemical kinetics are appreciated. This post will be responsible for device fabrication, performance evaluation, and degradation analysis. This post will not engage organic synthesis.

Candidates for manufacturing process development should have rich hands-on experience in vacuum thermal evaporation and good knowledge in related equipment. Skills in the modeling of heating elements and vapor deposition are highly appreciated. Proficiency in CAD software, i.e. AutoCAD and Solidworks, and thin film characterization are also advantageous. This post will be involved in equipment design, system integration, and process evaluation.

The successful candidates should be capable of working independently and with other team members. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided where applicable.
