北京化工大學擬于2017年9月17日至22日在北京舉辦“第八屆原子和分子團簇理論國際會議”，英文名稱“8th International Conference on Theory of Atomic & Molecular Clusters (TAMC VIII)”。  https://www.tamc2017.org

在自然科學中，原子和分子團簇是介于原子、分子與宏觀固體物質(zhì)之間的物質(zhì)結(jié)構(gòu)的新層次，涉及到許多物質(zhì)運動過程和現(xiàn)象，如催化、燃燒、晶體生長、成核和凝固、相變、溶膠、薄膜形成和濺射等。團簇科學屬于多學科交叉的范疇，從原子分子物理、凝聚態(tài)物理、量子化學、表面科學、材料科學等學科的概念及方法交織在一起，形成了當前團簇研究的中心議題。原子和分子團簇理論國際會議被認為是團簇理論研究領(lǐng)域國際上最重要的會議，被譽為團簇理論領(lǐng)域的“奧運會”。

該會議截至到2017年已經(jīng)成功舉辦7屆。第1次原子和分子團簇理論國際會議(TAMC I)始于1993年的德國累爾，每3-5年舉行一次。后面第2-7次分別在美國豐塔納（TAMC II, 1996），德國柏林（TAMC III, 1999），法國圖盧茲（TAMC IV, 2004），美國里士滿（TAMC V, 2007）, 墨西哥墨西哥城（TAMC VI, 2010）, 英國伯明翰（TAMC VII, 2013）。此次會議是這一系列會議第一次在非歐美國家舉行。

The 8th International Conference on Theory of Atomic & Molecular Clusters ( https://www.tamc2017.org/ ) will be held in Beijing, China, from Sep. 17 to Sep. 22, 2017, and it will take place at Beijing Friendship Hotel, Beijing, China.

The TAMC meetings have been going on for 24 years, and TAMC VIII follows the previous conferences in Leer (Germany, 1993), Lake Geneva (USA, 1996), Berlin (Germany, 1999), Toulouse (France, 2004), Richmond (USA, 2007), Mexico City (Mexico, 2010), and Birmingham (UK, 2013). This will be the first time that the meeting will be held outside Europe or America.

The conference will highlight developments of theoretical methods and concepts and applications of theory to experiment in cluster and nano science. There will be invited talks, talks selected from contributed abstracts, posters and the roundtable discussions.
