Post-doctoral position – Measurement of SARS-CoV-2 in air to improve health care workers safety during COVID-19 pandemics

Project background:
The research will be related to measurement of SARS-CoV-2 in air to improve health care workers safety during COVID-19 pandemics. Our group has invented a localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) biosensor for on-line detection of SARS-CoV-2 (ACS Nano 2020, https://doi.org/10.1021/acsnano.0c02439 ). In this project, we will validate, optimize and apply the sensor in clinical settings to improve health care workers safety.

Job description:
to develop highly efficient sample collection methods for airborne viruses
to measure viruses with different methods including our biosensor
to deploy the sensor in partner hospitals for on-line monitoring
to analyze the results and develop strategies to minimize infection risks
The candidate is expected to further develop the research in the laboratory and supervise students.

Your profile:
We are looking for suitable candidates with a doctoral degree in virology, microbiology, or related fields with excellent academic records. Interested candidates should have strong research backgrounds and solid independent research ability. Direct experience with virial research is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
