PhD Student Position in Mechanics of Materials at the City University of Hong Kong

A PhD student position is available in Spring or Fall 2021 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong with research direction of mechanics of materials. The interested student could contact Dr. Niu at xinrui.niu@cityu.edu.hk for consideration.

Requirements:
•        B.S. or M.S. in Solid Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics and other related engineering and scientific fields.
•        An overall GPA not less than 85/100 (the standard could be flexible depending on the tier of universities).
•        Fulfill the language requirement: a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based) is required; or an overall band score of 6.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

Additional information:
•        Monthly Stipend: 17700 HKD.
•        The student is expected to work on research topics related to mechanics-based design of polymer composite structures by conducting mechanical experiments, finite element analysis, 3D-printing, etc.
