Permeability increases as polymer concentration increases. At the same time, polymers that otherwise would be retented under lower pressure can partially across the ultrafiltration membrane due to a pressure rise. |

| This may be due to the increase in polymer concentration near the membrane surface caused by the increased flux with the increase of pressure. Higher polymer concentration leads to an increase in the amount of permeability. Meanwhile, the trapped polymer at the low pressure can be filtered partially through the ultrafiltration membrane. |
