PhD Positions in ME at Tennessee Technological University

POSITIONS: PhD positions (RA) are available for Fall 2016/Spring 2017 at the Tennessee Technological University within the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Highly motivated individuals are sought to work on multidisciplinary research in the areas of dynamic systems and control, engine combustion and emissions, automotive powertrain control, and alternative/renewable fuels. Background in dynamic systems and control with automotive applications is strongly desired. Master’s degree is preferred for PhD applicants, but not necessary. ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY: Tennessee Tech is part of the Tennessee Board of Regents system. Tennessee Tech University is one of the best public universities in the South, according to a variety of reports and rankings organizations. It has been recently recognized as a doctoral university - moderate research activity by The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. There are approximately 11,339 students enrolled. The department offers an ABET accredited undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, as well as the masters and doctor of philosophy degrees. The college is home to five degree granting departments, and three state funded research centers. Detailed information can be found at https://www.tntech.edu/. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, other general admission requirements (TOEFL, GRE. GPA).
