Hello, everybody. 樓主生活篇來(lái)了。DIY結(jié)束之后，大家一定有許多進(jìn)步了，畢竟最艱難的過(guò)程已經(jīng)過(guò)去了。那么，更難的海外生活即將來(lái)到了，O(∩_∩)O哈哈哈~希望大家和我一起進(jìn)步吧，生活經(jīng)驗(yàn)總結(jié)會(huì)繼續(xù)跟進(jìn)，但是樓主決定《學(xué)姐在澳洲》系列篇用英文寫，一方面鍛煉自己英文打字速度，另一方面鍛煉自己寫作和語(yǔ)法。感覺(jué)就像自己記日記一樣，不管咋樣，希望我的經(jīng)歷對(duì)那些關(guān)注我帖子的人有一些幫助，DIY留學(xué)不易，且行且?jiàn)^斗！ So, Let's go. Chapter 1 Accommodation and Enrollment 1. Accommodation Before you come to Australia, you should find a room to stay. You have two choices. A. Ask your friend in Australia to rent a room for you. You can temporarily rent a room for one month and then look for a permanent room later. Or, your friend directly rent a long-stay room for you. B. Rent a room on your own after you arrived In this case, you may temporarily live in your supervisor’s house or your friend’s room. Please remember that you should consider their conveniences. Overall, you have plenty of methods to find a place to stay. It includes flat, house and unit. Considering your budget and the distance from the university, you can get some information on the following websites: (1). http://www.sydneytoday.com/ (2). http://www.tigtag.com/ (3). http://www.gumtree.com.au/ (4). https://www.flatmatefinders.com.au/ (5): In your school website, you can apply for a flat in campus (it’s not cheap, but it’s safe and convenient). MQ: https://find.accommodation.mq.edu.au/ There are several rules that you should remember. In general, you need to contact the landlord via mobile phone or email for an inspection. If you sign the contract of rent, the bond is equivalent to 4 weeks should be given to the landlord in advance and you will pay the rent fortnightly. Notice: You’d better inspect several rooms and bargain with your landlord. Don’t trust the photos posted on the website. Choose clean and well-behaved roommates If you want to save money, find a good guy to share the room with you. I suggest you take her/his personality into consideration. 2. Enrollment Don’t do it as soon as you arrive at your university, because you need a bank account and a phone number before your enrollment. Take your passport, go to the commonwealth bank (Other banks are ok) and open your bank account (you need to fill a form with your address. The bank card will be sent to you by post. So, your address is very important). Before you finish your bank account, you will go to the Optus company (Others are ok. It’s similar to China Unicom) and buy a SIM card. When you get your SIM card and have a phone number, you can go back to the bank and finish your information. Now, you have your bank account and phone number. Please take your COE, passport and VISA letter to the HDR office, namely Scholarships for Higher Degree Research office. You will follow the officer’s instruction and fill several forms. Of course, you need a little time to get your student ID card, student e-mail address and something else. Anyway, you have finished your enrollment now. In the following days, you just need to check your e-mails and activate all your accounts. That's all. |
