Postdoctoral fellow in stem cell biology and neuroscience (gene expression and regulation): Houston, TX, United States : Houston, TX, United States We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to study stem cell biology and neuroscience in the Department of Neurosurgery, and Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School at Houston. Our laboratory combines interdisciplinary approaches including neuroscience, stem cell biology, genomics and bioinformatics to address fundamental questions in neural cell fate determination and neural injuries. We are currently pursuing basic and translational research in neural repair and regenerative medicine (https://jiaqianwulab.org/). Qualified candidates should: • Have strong background and skills in neural development, glia biology, isolating and culturing primary neural cells or stem cells. • Have experimental skills in molecular biology such as gene knockout, over-expression (siRNA/shRNA or CRISPR/CAS9) and immunoprecipitation/ChIP. • Demonstrated proficiency as evidenced by relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals and is interested in acquiring new skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to pursue highly collaborative projects with significant translational impact, alongside with stem cell researchers and clinicians. Our lab is located in the beautiful new facility of the Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine in the Texas Medical Center. We did not suffer any flooding during the past hurricanes. Texas Medical Center is one of largest medical complex in the world and provides access to the more than 40 member institutions, including two medical schools, four schools of nursing and 13 renowned hospitals. Many scientific and educational opportunities are available in the metropolitan area of Houston as well as cultural, entertainment and sports activities.
