About the position: We have a funded PhD position starting from Jan 2019 (or Aug 2019 by latest) at SUNY Binghamton to work on design-manufacturing of novel architectured materials. This position involves both experimental (80%, manufacturing and characterization) and computation (20%, by Abaqus) works regarding 3D/4D printed materials & structures. Our department is equipped with the state-of-the-art 3D printers for metals/polymers, e.g. EOS M290, Objet, Markforged, etc., and a full set of material testing/characterization equipment.
