However, why did previous studies use organic solvents to prepare microcapsules? Does the change of solvent affect its use effect? 4、Whether the shell can be degraded and propisochlor can be released in the process of continuous release of microcapsules? Reviewer: 2 Comments to the Author Title: Preparation and characterization of poly(melamine-formaldehyde) microcapsules filled with propisochlor Manuscript Number: LMSA-2018-0251 The manuscript mainly worked on the preparation of poly melamine-formaldehyde microcapsules that filled with propisochlor using in-situ polymerization method and investigated the effect of different ratios of core (propisochlor)-shell material (melamine-formaldehyde) on the encapsulation efficiency of the propisochlor microcapsules. The microcapsules prepared in different core-shell material ratios (2:1, 1:1, 2:3 and 1:2). The microcapsules characterized using several techniques like FTIR, SEM, PSA and UV spectrometry. In addition, authors studied thermal degradation of the microcapsules using thermogravimetric analyses. The paper was organized. Analysis and conclusions were supported by the experimental results. However, in my opinion, it is far from being ready for publication in a scientific journal in its present condition. Major improvements need to be introduced before publication. The most prominent notices in the paper are as following: 1- This manuscript has some grammatical errors and the writing of the manuscript could be significantly improved and some typo like morphous in page 10 line 56. 2- Line 4 page 4, authors said “As we all know, the degradation of propisochlor through microorganisms and the drift risk of propisochlor had influenced the efficacy.” However, this is not known to everyone, as their work is new. Explain? 3- Lack to the recent reference. The authors have to demonstrate the new work that has been done. e.g. authors have to consider the references like “Encapsulation of Tung Oil for Self-Healing Coatings in Corrosion Applications, Sci. Adv. Mater., 7 (2015) 2628–2638” for self-healing as ref # 25 and ref like “Preparation and characterization of urea–formaldehyde microcapsules filled with paraffin oil, Polym. Bull., 73 (2016) 631–646” as ref #26 for phase change materials, in introduction section line 37 and 38 page 5. 4- What is the thickness of the microcapsules shell? Authors have to measure it to clarify the relation between the ratio of the core/shell material and the thickness of the shell. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Please fix the quality of chemical structure of propisochlor (bond angles, lengths etc.) and integrate this figure into Figure 3. This figure alone depicting structure is not needed separately. Also, in Figure 3, under the structure of propisochlor, a smaller sphere depiction can be used, which can be integrated inside the microcapsule. At present, Fig3 suggests as if only one propisochlor molecule is inside the microcapsule. Also, please correct all grammatical and language errors in the revised version.
