The Computational Geomechanics Group (https://www.choogroup.org) at The University of Hong Kong — led by Dr. Jinhyun Choo — is seeking applicants for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship scheme 2020–2021. Hong Kong PhD Fellowship The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship is the most prestigious award for graduate students in Hong Kong. Its major benefits include: • Monthly stipend of HK$ 25,800 (~RMB 22,700) for entire PhD (4 years) • Annual international travel (e.g. conference) support for the first 3 years Every year, our group member has won a Hong Kong PhD Fellowship. Qualifications High chances if you are a top student from one of the following universities: • Top mainland Chinese universities. For example: -C9 league universities – Tsinghua University; Peking University; Fudan University; Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Zhejiang University; University of Science and Technology of China; Nanjing University; Harbin Institute of Technology; Xi’an Jiao Tong University. -Top universities in Civil Engineering and related fields – Tongji University; Huazhong University of Science and Technology; South China University of Science and Technology; Southeast University; Tianjin University; Wuhan University, and other prestigious universities. • Overseas (e.g. US or UK) universities • Hong Kong universities 1st-ranked students from other universities may also be qualified. International experience (e.g. exchange student) is a big plus, but not mandatory. Interested candidates please send your CV to jchoo@hku.hk.
