澳大利亞新南威爾士大學(xué)單細(xì)胞測(cè)序課題組招收PhD

研究方向: 通過(guò)單細(xì)胞測(cè)序獲取大量創(chuàng)新性的不同有機(jī)體,組織或疾病的信息,并運(yùn)用算法和計(jì)算數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)來(lái)分析這些數(shù)據(jù),以期能夠找到解釋對(duì)應(yīng)的現(xiàn)象。 要求: • 有至少一種編程語(yǔ)言的經(jīng)驗(yàn),最好是python • 對(duì)數(shù)學(xué),物理學(xué)或統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)有扎實(shí)的理解 • 對(duì)科學(xué)研究有濃厚興趣 • 友善且有團(tuán)隊(duì)精神 • 加分項(xiàng):有single cell rna-seq或bulk rna-seq經(jīng)歷 達(dá)到unsw英語(yǔ)要求(https://www.international.unsw.e ... nguage-requirements),且international students均分最好在85及以上 關(guān)于導(dǎo)師和團(tuán)隊(duì): • 導(dǎo)師(fabio zanini)是意大利人,在馬普所取得博士學(xué)位并在斯坦福進(jìn)行博后研究,導(dǎo)師人非常好,很樂(lè)意指導(dǎo)學(xué)生。 • 課題組屬于unsw醫(yī)學(xué)院。我們專注于使用跨學(xué)科方法將生物學(xué),醫(yī)學(xué),工程學(xué),數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué),計(jì)算機(jī)科學(xué)和統(tǒng)計(jì)數(shù)據(jù)結(jié)合來(lái)分析單細(xì)胞的異質(zhì)性。目前主要研究新生兒肺,嚴(yán)重登革熱的原因,病毒感染,并開(kāi)發(fā)用于腫瘤細(xì)胞分類和網(wǎng)絡(luò)分析的可擴(kuò)展算法。 • 更多信息請(qǐng)移步https://fabilab.org/ 關(guān)于學(xué)校: 新南威爾士大學(xué)位于澳大利亞悉尼,這里溫度適宜,風(fēng)景優(yōu)美。unsw是澳洲八大之一,qs排名前50?蒲性O(shè)施一流,同事們都富有研究熱情和協(xié)作精神。 如有興趣,請(qǐng)發(fā)個(gè)人簡(jiǎn)歷和個(gè)人陳述(大概半頁(yè),描述why am i a good fit for this position?)到導(dǎo)師郵箱:fabio.zanini@unsw.edu.au 如條件合適,可提供全額獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金。 下面附上導(dǎo)師寫(xiě)的英文版簡(jiǎn)介: open position: phd student in data-driven single cell biology about the project single cell sequencing is revolutionising biomedicine. our lab is generating and analysing extremely innovative data from different organisms, tissues, and diseases, yet we lack a unifying interpretation of these data. while physics has a standard model that explains most phenomena in the universe in terms of interactions between elementary particles, such a model is still missing in biology. to fill this gap, we are looking for a talented phd student to create a standard model of cell biology. netwok algorithms and computational data science will be combined on a daily basis. requirements: • experience with at least one programming language, preferrably python • a solid understanding of mathematics, physics, or statistics • passion for science and discovery • kindness and team spirit bonus: • previous experience with single cell or bulk transcrpitomics/rna-seq candidates should send an email to fabio.zanini@unsw.edu.au with a half-page statement of research interests (why am i a good fit for this position?) and a copy of your cv with two reference contacts. the position is planned to start in the third/last quarter of 2021, with some room for flexibility. about the supervisor fabio zanini is a senior researcher at unsw sydney and the head of the lab. he obtained a msc in physics and a phd in bioinformatics at the max planck institute for developmental biology in germany and subsequently completed a postdoc at stanford university. he has performed research in italy, germany, france, the us, and australia and has a network of international collaborators. about the lab data driven biomedicine lab is a young research group at unsw sydney, australia. we focus on single cell heterogeneity using an interdisciplinary approach that combines biology, medicine, engineering, data science, computer science, and statistics. we currently study the neonatal lung, the causes of severe dengue, viral infections, and develop scalable algorithms for tumor cell classification and network analysis. more information can be found on the lab website: https://fabilab.org. candidates who identify as belonging to groups underrepresented in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (stem) fields are especially encouraged to apply. about unsw sydney our lab is located in the lowy cancer research centre at unsw sydney, australia, within a vibrant research and education environment that combines passion for biomedical science with top-notch equipment, core facilities, and a rich cultural scene. given the current circumstances with the covid pandemic, remote commencement will be considered. |
