CSC PhD student from 2022 for project on 3D human muscle tissue engineering

the research environment. university of copenhagen, department of nutrition, exercise and sports (nexs) is currently ranked #1 on shanghai ranking among academic exercise and sports institutions worldwide. https://nexs.ku.dk/english/ within nexs, the august krogh section of molecular physiology′s research output is a major contributor to this success, being the most productive in terms of scientific productivity, impact-metrics and funding-acquisition. https://nexs.ku.dk/english/research/molecular-physiology/ in the section of molecular physiology, associate professor thomas e. jensen (tej) is the youngest of four 4 permanently employed pis, the others being professors erik a. richter, bente kiens and jørgen wojtaszewski, all well-recognized capacities within human molecular exercise metabolism research. in total, the section comprises at any given time an international mix of 30-40 phds, post docs, visiting scientists, and 4 shared lab technicians + 5-10 master students. tej heads one of 3 research groups within the section “muscle growth and metabolism” focusing on the study of signal transduction mechanisms in healthy and unhealthy skeletal muscle in models ranging from cell culture to mice to human biopsies. his group currently comprises 4 post doc and 2 phd students. tej has supervised two csc phd students previously, both of which successfully completed their projects. references from former csc students can be provided upon request. the project in brief. currently there is no means of generating and culturing metabolically mature human skeletal muscle tissue in vitro, which would be a game-changer in human muscle physiology research. however, emerging techniques for engineering 3d in vitro models of human tissue is a rapidly developing and hold the potential to generate metabolically mature human muscle tissue. we are currently developing a human pluripotent stem cell based 3d multi-material printing approach to generate human muscle tissue. the current project involves biochemically characterizing metabolic and contractile maturity of this tissue model as well as translating already established endpoints including glucose transporter translocation, insulin sensitivity, force development and hypertrophy to this model. finally, robust aav induction in the tissue needs to be established. upon successful characterization of the human muscle tissue, this model will be applied to answer metabolic questions relating to skeletal muscle disease development as well as be developed as a drug screening tool in collaboration with an industry partner. your profile. the candidate should have a degree in biology, biochemistry, medicine or similar, preferably with a strong background in and understanding of molecular cell biology, biochemistry and metabolism. prior laboratory work experience will be considered an advantage, in particular experience with biochemical analyses, microscopy and in vitro cell culture procedures including transfections. english is the main language of communication at the department and internationally in science and excellent written and oral english language skills will thus be an explicit selection criterion. outside science. copenhagen is steadily ranked among the safest and most livable cities in the world (#1 in safe city index 2021) https://edition.cnn.com/travel/a ... revealed/index.html the neighborhood nørrebro close to campus was recently ranked coolest on earth by time out magazine. https://secretkobenhavn.com/norrebro-coolest-neighborhood/ on november 1st 2021, 76% of the danish population is covid19-vaccinated and society is fully open. https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations?country=owid_wrl apart from the many sights in copenhagen and denmark, denmark sits conveniently on top of western europe and within a few hours travel of major cultural and historical cities including berlin, paris, london and rome. interested in joining us, please reach out to thomas e. jensen tejensen@nexs.ku.dk with a short motivation letter (max 1 page) and a cv. ![]() 最近導(dǎo)師有工作安排,11月22號(hào)前后會(huì)回復(fù)大家,安排視頻通話(huà)。請(qǐng)耐心等待。 有興趣的同學(xué)趕緊投簡(jiǎn)歷吧。 [ last edited by mjdee on 2021-11-10 at 20:46 ] ![]() 現(xiàn)在還可以投簡(jiǎn)歷。 明天開(kāi)始匯總收到的簡(jiǎn)歷,最晚周四會(huì)聯(lián)系大家面試時(shí)間,請(qǐng)留意郵件吧。 [ last edited by mjdee on 2021-11-22 at 17:54 ] 大部分投了簡(jiǎn)歷的人都收到了面試的邀請(qǐng)。 這個(gè)項(xiàng)目目前還沒(méi)有合適的人選。大家還可以投簡(jiǎn)歷。 專(zhuān)業(yè)背景不限,主要看大家的綜合能力。 [ Last edited by mjdee on 2021-12-3 at 18:13 ] |
