opening phd positions pi: yajing Shen, department of electric & computer engineering, hong kong university of science and technology (https://eeyajing.people.ust.hk) vacancy: 1 phd candidates (autumn fall 2023) scholarship: fully funded contact: prof. Shen (eeyajing@ust.hk) Highly self-motivated students with strong engineering background （optical engineering）and great interest to science are welcome to apply for PhD program. The admitted PhD student will be awarded full scholarship and the super excellent student will also be recommended for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (HKPFS). Interested candidates please contact Prof. Shen with a personal statement, a complete curriculum vitae, the contact of referees. We will contact you in two weeks if you passed the first-round screening. Note: Apppicants should meet the following criterions: ·Bachelor and/or Master Degree in the first-class university; ·For a candidate with bachelor degree: Ranking top 5% in your class/major/department with 1-2 years research experience in Laboratory; Ranking top 20% in your class/major/department with good academic achievements and engineering skills; ·For a candidate with Master degree: Ranking top 20% in your class/major/department with outstanding academic achievements and engineering skills in the relevent research field of our lab; ·Interested in science and the research in our lab; ·Self-motivation; ·Entrepreneurship; ·Most importantly: Integrity. Applicants have to fulfill English Language requirements with one of the following proficiency attainments: ·TOEFL-iBT: 80* (*refers to the total score in one single attempt) ·TOEFL-pBT: 550 ·TOEFL-Revised paper-delivered test: 60 (total scores for Reading, Listening and Writing sections) ·IELTS (Academic Module): Overall score: 6.5 and All sub-score: 5.5 ·The first language is English ·Obtained the bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an institution where the medium of instruction was English.
