大家好,我在這里給我的博導(Dr. Ulbrich)轉(zhuǎn)發(fā)一個博士職位的招生信息: PhD position in single molecule imaging Maximilian Ulbrich Laboratory, University of Freiburg, Germany Using single molecule microscopy to study the biophysics of membrane proteins The Ulbrich lab has open positions for PhD candidates with a CSC fellowship who want to study the dynamics of membrane protein interactions using state-of-the-art single-molecule imaging techniques. Membrane proteins are pivotal in the transduction of information from the outside to the inside of the cell. When membrane proteins interact with each other, the 2-dimensional environment of the membrane adds constraints to the system that make it an interesting and challenging subject to study on a biophysical level. We use single-molecule microscopy to directly observe the movement and interactions of proteins in the cellular environment. Our main interest in directed to g-protein coupled receptors that are important for many physiological processes, and to designed protein systems that allow us to isolate and manipulate specific properties of naturally occurring membrane proteins. Therefore, the applicant should have a background in biology, physics, chemistry, or related fields, and show an interest in combining experimental and theoretical work. Experience in programming and building devices is an advantage, but if not present, these skills will be acquired along the project. Candidates interested in applying can expect help for developing a good project idea and writing a grant application for the CSC. It is expected that the applicants are enthusiastic for science, committed to the project, and willing to work in an international team (English language skills required).
