IEEE to Launch Two New Transaction Titles: IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid and IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy As research and interest in smart grid and sustainable technologies increases, IEEE Power & Energy Society is launching two new cross-disciplinary and archival journals featuring original research, papers, and surveys of existing work. The first issues of these two new titles, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid and IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy will launch in 2010. energy systems that are affected by smart grid. Surveys of existing work on smart grid may also be considered for publication when they propose a new viewpoint on history and a challenging perspective on the future of smart grid. This journal is technically co-sponsored by eight different IEEE societies. Topics that may be covered include: * Smart sensing, communication and control in energy systems * Wireless communications and advanced metering infrastructure * Smart grid for energy management in buildings and home automation * Phasor measurement unit applications for smart grid * Smart grid for plug-in vehicles and low-carbon transportation alternatives * Smart grid for cyber and physical security systems * Smart grid for distributed energy resources * Smart grid for energy savings and financial management * Smart grid in interdependent energy infrastructures * Smart grid for intelligent monitoring and outage management IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy Content: The Transactions will publish original contributions focusing on theories, technologies, design, policies, and developments in sustainable energy, as well as surveys of existing work on sustainable energy. These will include papers on the evaluation of electric power systems affected by sustainable energy. Papers will also focus on issues like carbon capture, global warming, greenhouse gas emissions, and mitigations of fossil energy use in electricity generation. This journal is financially co- sponsored by three IEEE societies--in addition to PES, which is the sponsoring society--and is technically co-sponsored by seven different IEEE societies. Topics that may be covered include: * Wind turbine generators * Solar photovoltaics * Solar thermal electricity * Small hydro design and applications * Fuel cells * Hydrogen technology * Geothermal * Tidal and wave energy * Biomass * Combined heat and power * Battery and storage * Carbon capture from power generation * Mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions * Energy efficiency * Grid interaction of sustainable energy sources |
