The Opportunistic Human Pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii Senses and Responds to Light 人體機(jī)會致病菌-鮑氏不動桿菌對光的感受和反應(yīng) María A.Mussi1,2,Jennifer A.Gaddy1,Matías Cabruja2,Brock A.Arivett1,Alejandro M.Viale2,Rodolfo Rasia2,and Luis A.Actis1 Department of Microbiology,Miami University,Oxford,Ohio 45056,1 and Instituto de Biología Moleculary Celular de Rosario(IBR,CONICET),Facultad de Ciencias Bioquímicas y Farmac′euticas,Universidad Nacional de Rosario,2000 Rosario,Argentina2 JOURNAL OF BACTERIOLOGY Dec.2010,p.6336–6345 摘要:Light is a ubiquitous environmental signal that many organisms sense and respond to by modulating their physiological responses accordingly.While this is an expected response among phototrophic microorganisms,the ability of chemotrophic prokaryotes to sense and react to light has become a puzzling and novel issue in bacterial physiology,particularly among bacterial pathogens.In this work,we show that the opportunistic pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii senses and responds to blue light.Motility and formation of biofilms and pellicles were observed only when bacterial cells were incubated in darkness.In contrast,the killing of Candida albicans filaments was enhanced when they were cocultured with bacteria under light.These bacterial responses depend on the expression of the A.baumannii ATCC 17978 A1S_2225 gene,which codes for an 18.6-kDa protein that contains an N-terminal blue-light-sensing-using flavin(BLUF)domain and lacks a detectable output domain(s).Spectral analyses of the purified recombinant protein showed its ability to sense light by a red shift upon illumination.Therefore,the A1S_2225 gene,which is present in several members of the Acinetobacter genus,was named blue-light-sensing A(blsA).Interestingly,temperature plays a role in the ability of A.baumannii to sense and respond to light via the BlsA photoreceptor protein. 1.鮑氏不動桿菌的運(yùn)動性和生物膜形成,在有藍(lán)光時,會受到抑制;暗環(huán)境中無 2.這種光感效應(yīng),受溫度的影響:24℃時可以觀察到,37℃時沒有 3.鮑氏不動桿菌和白色念珠菌在藍(lán)光下共培養(yǎng)時,前者可以殺死后者的菌絲形成 4.光感作用的形成是基因blsA存在的結(jié)果,該基因可以形成藍(lán)光感受蛋白BlsA 更多資料請登錄www.bioknow.cn |
