每天學一個詞 （3月1日） anxious 形容詞 a. 1. 焦慮的,掛念的[(+about/at/for)] be anxious about sth (sb) 為某事或某人擔心或擔憂。 I'm anxious about her safety. 我對她的安全擔心。 He was anxious about her absence. 他擔心她不來。 2. 令人焦慮的 be anxious for sth (sb)(1) 為某事或某人擔心或擔擾。 He was anxious for family. 他為他的家人擔心。 The week of the flood was an anxious time for all of us. 鬧水災的那一星期是使我們大家都焦慮不安的日子。 注：此用法有時可將介詞 for 換成 about。 如：We’re anxious for [about] his safety. 我們擔心他的安全。 3. 渴望的[F][(+for)][+to-v][+that] We're anxious for your safe return. 我們盼望你平安歸來。 We are anxious for a change. 我們渴望換個環(huán)境。 We are really anxious for peace. 我們確實渴望和平。 We were anxious that there be no misunderstanding. 我們極愿沒有誤解。 I could see that she was anxious for Laura to go. 我看得出她巴望勞拉去。 be anxious for sb to do sth 渴望do (希望， 想要)要某人做某事。 I'm really anxious to see him. 我急于見他。 We are anxious for him to come. 我們希望他來。 I was anxious for everything to be settled. 我希望把一切都解決。 注：該句型有時可與帶從句的結(jié)構互換。 如： We are anxious that he should come. 我們希望他來。 I was anxious that everything should be settled.我希望把一切都解決。 |
