Since considerably more manuscripts are received byXXX journal,than we can possibly publish in the limited available space, a stringent selection process has to be applied. In the course of this an article is first assessed in the editorial office as to whether it is of great significance for the development of a topical area of chemistry, and thus of interest to our wide and heterogeneous readership.
