Bill Gates, the creator of Microsoft, is famous for his contributions to the computer world, but also for his contributions to charities and the like. As one of the richest men in the world, Bill Gates is able to use his money to do good things for others. However, little is known about this talented and rich man because he tries to keep his private life quiet. There are a few facts out there though that shed light on the man behind one of the most popular companies in the world. Bill Gates was born William Henry Gates in 1955. He was born in Seattle Washington, and began his brilliant life there known as “Trey”. As a young man, Gates was able to demonstrate is brilliance by designing computer programs that he would sell for a sizeable profit. When it came time to take is SAT’s, Gates scored an impressive 1590. Bill Gates created and managed Microsoft, and not long after becoming the chair of the board Gates saw the company through enormous successes. He became a billionaire at age thirty-one, but he did not stop there. Gates continued to help the company foster new ideas, and to create new programs that help people every day on their computers. Bill Gates keeps his private life quiet, but what is known is that he met his wife Melinda while she was working for the company. The two began a relationship, and were later married in 1994. Melinda is often seen by his side, and is part of the charitable works that Bill Gates supports. The couple has two children, Jennifer and Rory. Many may be jealous of Gates’ wealth, but no one can deny the fact that Gates uses some of his money to do good. Bill and Melinda Gates established their foundation to support numerous different causes, including hunger, poverty, education, and healthcare. Their foundation supports those who are less fortunate, and proves that those with wealth can use their money for the greater good. |
