創(chuàng)新是提高論文錄用率的關鍵

最近2年,投了十幾稿次外文文章,到目前為止只接收2篇,感受最深的是要想辦法提高自己文章的創(chuàng)新水平。下面我用正反兩方面例子加以說明。 第一篇英文文章下了很大功夫,從做實驗到反復修改文章,差不多用了一年的時間,一連投了4個期刊(IF都在2以下),4個期刊都是拒稿,連個大修都不曾給過。究其原因就是創(chuàng)新不夠,別人報道用一種物質做絡合劑去富集重金屬,但存在一些問題。我就針對存在的問題,對一系列不同聚合度的該物質進行對比研究,做實驗的工作量是別人實驗的若干倍,從中找到了最佳選擇。但審稿專家都認為雖有實際應用價值,但創(chuàng)新不夠。無奈,這篇文章至今還壓在手里。 而另一篇文章,我在對一系列實驗結果進行分析的基礎上,提出了一個理論模型,用這個模型能解釋所有實驗結果。由于自己英語水平有限,而這篇文章又很難借用別的文章上的語言,所以英語表達不好。但由于文章有創(chuàng)新,審稿專家都比較寬容。如第二個審稿人意見如下: Reviewer #2: Due to poor use of English and questionable organisation, it was difficult to understand and make sense of this manuscript, but with perseverance I appreciate what the authors are trying to do and believe they are essentially correct. It appears that previous workers had used a similar experimental set up and were unable to interpret fully their results. This manuscript derives a generalised equation for relating the effective concentration difference of the free metal ion across a membrane in a diffusion cell to the total measured concentration of metal in the source and receptor solutions. The different situations that can arise are hypothetically discussed and then the derived understanding is applied to the interpretation of a systematic set of measurements where the ligands in the receptor solution are varied, along with ionic strength. The understanding that emerges is relevant to measurements more commonly made with DGT devices equipped with a solid phase binding layer, and therefore advances our understanding of such measurements. The above assessment suggests that there will eventually be a worthy published paper, but considerable improvements need to be made before that outcome is reached 從審稿意見中可以看出,審稿人對英語表達評價很低,但是由于覺得文章有創(chuàng)新,給了一個大修。是創(chuàng)新這個亮點戰(zhàn)勝了語言表達的不足,否則肯定是直接拒稿。這篇文章經過大修和小修后最終被IF為4.31的期刊錄用。 綜上所述,發(fā)表SCI文章質量是關鍵,特別是要突出創(chuàng)新。在課題選擇上要突出創(chuàng)新,在實驗設計上要突出創(chuàng)新,在對實驗結果的分析解釋上也要講究創(chuàng)新。 [ Last edited by starared on 2011-7-3 at 11:58 ] |
