我們要彼此幫助 人類就應(yīng)該那樣 We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. 我們要幸福的生活 而不是悲慘的 We want to live by each other's happiness not misery. 我們不希望彼此憎恨 We don't want to hate and despise one another. 在這個(gè)世界上 In this world 土地是富足的 它能養(yǎng)活每一個(gè)人 the good earch is rich and can provide for everyone. 生活本可以是自由美好的 The way of life can be free and beautiful, 但是我們迷失了方向 but we have lost the way. 貪婪侵蝕了人們的靈魂 Greed has poisoned men's souls 用憎恨阻隔了世界 has barricaded the world with hate 我們一步步走向血腥 has goose-stepped us into bloodshed. 我們飛速發(fā)展 但是同時(shí)又自我封閉 We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. 工業(yè)時(shí)代讓我們物欲橫流 Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. 我們的知識(shí)讓我們玩世不恭 我們的智慧讓我們冷酷無(wú)情 Our knowledge has made us cynical; our cleverness, hard and unkind. 我們考慮得太多而感知得太少 We think too much and feel too little. 除了機(jī)器 我們更需要人性 More than machinery we need humanity. 除了智慧 我們更需要仁慈和禮貌 More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness. 沒(méi)有這些品格 生活將充滿暴力 一切將不復(fù)存在 Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost. 飛機(jī)和收音機(jī) 讓我們彼此靠得更近 The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. 這些發(fā)明呼喚人類的良知 These inventions cry out for the goodness in man 呼喚全世界的手足情誼 讓我們團(tuán)結(jié)在一起 Cry for universal brotherhood - for the unity of us all. 現(xiàn)在我的聲音傳到數(shù)以百萬(wàn)的 Even now my voice is reaching millions, 數(shù)以百萬(wàn)的絕望的男人 女人和孩子們的耳朵里 millions of despairing men, women, and little children 被那些在暴政制度下痛苦折磨的受難者 victims of a system that makes men torture 和無(wú)端入獄的人們聽(tīng)到 and imprison innocent people. 我要對(duì)那些能夠聽(tīng)到我講話的人們說(shuō) 不要絕望！ To those who can hear me, I say, Do not despair! 我們正經(jīng)受的悲慘遭遇不過(guò)是那些畏懼人類進(jìn)步的 The misery upon us is but the passing of greed 貪婪的人所承受的痛苦 the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. 人們的憎恨將會(huì)過(guò)去 獨(dú)裁者也會(huì)消亡 he hate of men will pass, and dictators die, 被他們奪走的權(quán)力將會(huì)重新回到人民的手中 and the power they took from the people will return to the people. 只要要類沒(méi)有滅亡 自由之火就永不會(huì)熄滅 And so long as men die, liberty will never perish. 士兵們 不要替那些畜生們賣命 Soldiers! Don't give yourselves to brutes 他們鄙視你們 奴役你們 men who despise you and enslave you 操縱你們的生命 告訴你該想什么 感覺(jué)什么 Regiment your lives, tell you what to think and feel! 他們把你們當(dāng)牛一樣訓(xùn)練為的只是拿你們?nèi)ギ?dāng)炮灰 Who drill you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. 不要把自己的命運(yùn)交給這些人 Don't give yourselves to these men, 這些像機(jī)器一樣思想機(jī)械毫無(wú)感情的人 machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! 你們不是機(jī)器 你們不是牛 你們是人！ You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! 你們每個(gè)人的心中有著人性的愛(ài) You have the love of humanity in you. 不要憎恨 只有那些沒(méi)有人愛(ài)和邪惡的人才會(huì)憎恨 Don't hate, only the unloved and the unnatural hate. 士兵們 不要為奴役而戰(zhàn)斗 要為了自由而戰(zhàn)斗！ Soldiers! Don't fight for slavery! Fight for liberty! 圣徙路加說(shuō)過(guò)，“上帝的國(guó)就在人間” St Luke says, " the kingdom of God is within man." 不在一個(gè)人也不是在一群人中 而是在所有的人中 就在你們之中 Not in one man nor a group of men, but in all me. In you! 你們有能力創(chuàng)造機(jī)器 You have the power to create machines, 有能力去創(chuàng)造快樂(lè) The power to create happiness! 你們有能力使生活自由而美好 You have the power to make this life free and beautiful. 把生活當(dāng)作一場(chǎng)美妙的冒險(xiǎn) To make this life a wonderful adventure. 以民主的名義 讓我們使用這種能力吧 In the name of democracy, let us use that power 讓我們聯(lián)合起來(lái) 為創(chuàng)造一個(gè)嶄新的世界而奮斗！ Let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world 在這個(gè)世界人們將不會(huì)失業(yè) A world that will give men a chance to work 它會(huì)給青年人更好的未來(lái) 老人也老有所養(yǎng) That will give youth a future and old age a security. 那些畜生們對(duì)我們承諾過(guò)的 Promising these things, brutes have risen. 全都是謊言！他們沒(méi)有實(shí)現(xiàn)那些諾言 永遠(yuǎn)都不會(huì) But they lie! They do not fulfil that promise, they never will! 獨(dú)裁者使自己享受了自由卻奴役其他人 Dictators free themselver but they enslave the people. 現(xiàn)在 讓我們?yōu)閷?shí)現(xiàn)那個(gè)諾言而斗爭(zhēng)吧！ Now let us fight to fulfil that promise! 讓我們?yōu)榱俗杂?的世界而斗爭(zhēng) 為了廢除國(guó)界而斗爭(zhēng) Let us fight to free the world, to do away with nationnal barries. 為了驅(qū)除貪婪 憎恨和狹隘而斗爭(zhēng) To do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. 讓我們?yōu)橐粋�(gè)公正世界而斗爭(zhēng) Let us fight for a world of reason. 一個(gè)科學(xué)和進(jìn)步將會(huì)為全體人類創(chuàng)造幸福的世界 A world where science and progress will lead to the haponess. 士兵們 以民主的名義 Soldiers, in the name of democracy! 讓我們聯(lián)合起來(lái)！ Let us unite! 不管這會(huì)兒你在哪兒 抬起頭來(lái) Wherever you are, look up! 烏云正在散去 陽(yáng)光正在穿破烏云 The clouds are lifting, the sun is breaking through, 我們正在人黑暗中走出來(lái) We are coming out of the darkness 走進(jìn)一個(gè)新的世界 into a new world, 一個(gè)更友好的世界 A kindlier world, 在那里人們不會(huì)有憎恨和貪婪 Where men will rise above their hate, their greed 殘忍 and their brutality, 抬頭看吧 Look up, people 人類的靈魂插上了翅膀 The soul of man has been given wings. 他正飛入彩虹之中 He is flying into the rainbow, 飛入希望之光 飛向未來(lái) into the light of hope, into the future, 光輝的未來(lái)屬于你 the glorious future that belongs to you, 屬于我 屬于我們所有的人 to me and to all of us. 看啊 看�。� look up, look up! |
