【緊急求助】offer鑒定及相關(guān)問題~~請有經(jīng)驗的蟲友不吝賜教~~

絕非炫耀貼，確實沒見過真正的offer是啥樣的，感謝大家的幫助~ 這是我最近剛收到的一份美國博后offer，但我不確定這份offer是否就是所謂的正式offer，也就是說這份offer能否將來用于辦簽證時作為對方教授邀請信的證明材料。如果這份不是正式的offer，那么正式的offer又應(yīng)該包括哪些內(nèi)容呢？請大家耐心看完帖子的內(nèi)容，非常感謝你們的幫助~~呵呵~~期待大家的回復(fù)和意見~~ 信件內(nèi)容如下(部分個人信息略去，請見諒)： Dear ****, Thank you very much for your patience. I am pleased to offer you a post-doctoral position in my research group starting summer 2012, after the completion of your Ph.D. Salary for the position is $*****/year. As described in the attached document, **** (那所大學(xué)名) offers a generous set of health and other benefits for post-docs. I can also offer you $***** in relocation benefits (receipts required). I think we have a very exciting set of problem areas and collaborations that you would enjoy and benefit from working on. My goal is to give post-docs real development opportunities, to lead their own projects, help oversee younger students, and gain visibility in the community. My post-docs have been very successful: two of the most recent have gotten faculty positions, one in ****, another at ****. I am of course eager to fill this position as soon as possible and would appreciate hearing your decision as soon as possible Of course I understand you may have other opportunities to consider and need some time to evaluate this offer. Prof. **** ~~~~~~ 這位教授在這封信中并未帶上附件，又找他要了，也問了下有關(guān)正式offer的問題，另外告訴他我還收到了另一份offer，需要時間考慮并在數(shù)天內(nèi)盡快回復(fù)。他的回復(fù)如下： ~~~~~ Dear *****, My apologies for forgetting the attachment! I've included it here. ****（那所大學(xué)名） will provide an official offer letter as soon as we receive documentation from your university that you have completed all the requirements for the Ph.D. ****（那所大學(xué)名）will of course help with the visa process. I do not expect much difficulty or delay with the visa. Congratulations on receiving two post-doc offers. ***days is a very reasonable time to make a decision. Are you available to talk on Skype on ****? I would like to discuss the position with you and answer any questions you might have. Best wishes, Prof. ***** ~~~~~ PS：麻煩再問幾個問題， 1、寫到這才發(fā)現(xiàn)，這兩封信里好像也沒具體提及 博后 的年限，對方教授是準(zhǔn)備跟我Skype后再確定？ 2、第二封信里所說的 documentation from your university具體是指什么？答辯通過后的什么證明材料嗎？是不是還未畢業(yè)的博士都必須在完成答辯后給對方教授或?qū)Ψ絾挝秽]寄（email？傳真？）正式的、能說明你畢業(yè)的材料，對方才能給你郵寄下一步的材料？比如DS2019表？ 3、這里教授又提了“official offer letter”，難道說前面第一封不算是offer嗎？實在是有點搞暈了。我準(zhǔn)備如果實在整不明白的話，就直接跟教授Skype下問個明白。。。 4、對方教授反復(fù)說要Skype下，我也答應(yīng)并約定了時間，我是有不少問題想問，但不知道他具體還想知道點啥？大家有經(jīng)驗的話多多提供哦~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 稀里糊涂說了一大堆，不知道把自己的問題講明白了沒，呵呵，非常謝謝大家的幫助~~~ [ Last edited by 天棚元帥 on 2012-2-22 at 11:49 ] |

1.你理解的沒錯，skype上聊。 2.documentation from your university就是答辯通過證明，導(dǎo)師簽字之類的，說你足夠資格畢業(yè)了。因為這個教授知道，拿到博士學(xué)位證是幾個月之后的事情了，而你會著急辦visa，所以需要這個證明 3。正式offer上是有簽名的，而且要是學(xué)校的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)，至少是HR的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)，教授只能口頭答應(yīng)你，具體的offer還是要走官方程序的。 4.這次就是閑聊，問問當(dāng)?shù)厍闆r啦，之類的。列個話題單子，隨便聊聊，拉進(jìn)一下關(guān)系，到時候去了就覺得熟悉一些，不生分。 |
