人身上最重要的部位是什么呢？或許每個(gè)人都會(huì)有自己不同的答案：有的人選擇大腦，有的人選擇眼睛，有的人選擇手。但是你為什么選擇那個(gè)答案呢？仔細(xì)思考一下，也許你能和本文的作者一樣，獲得一個(gè)令人驚異的答案。 My mother used to ask me what is the most important part of the body. Through the years I would guess at what I thought was the correct answer. When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, "My ears, Mommy." She said, "No. Many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon." Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer. So this time I told her, "Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes." She looked at me and told me, "You are learning fast, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind." Over the years, Mother asked me a couple more times and always her answer was, "No, but you are getting smarter every year, my child." Then last year, my Grandpa died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to Grandpa. She asked me, "Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?" I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me. She saw the confusion on my face and told me, "This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived your life." I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, "My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder." I asked, "Is it because it holds up your head?" She replied, "No, it is because it can hold the head of a friend or loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometimes in life, my dear. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will have a shoulder to cry on when you need it." Then and there I knew the most important body part is not a selfish one. It is sympathetic to the pain of others. 我母親以前常常問(wèn)我，身體中什么部位最重要。許多年來(lái)，我一直在猜測(cè)我所認(rèn)為正確的答案。 在我很小的時(shí)候，我認(rèn)為聲音對(duì)人類(lèi)而言很重要，因此回答：“是耳朵，媽媽�！� 她說(shuō)：“不對(duì)，世界上有許多人是聾子。不過(guò)你還要繼續(xù)想這個(gè)問(wèn)題，以后我再問(wèn)你。” 當(dāng)她再次問(wèn)我時(shí)，已經(jīng)是好幾年以后了。自從第一次沒(méi)有回答正確之后，我就一直在琢磨答案。 于是，這次我對(duì)她說(shuō)：“媽媽?zhuān)曈X(jué)對(duì)每個(gè)人都很重要，所以應(yīng)該是眼睛。” 她看著我，說(shuō)：“你學(xué)的很快，但答案還是不對(duì)，因?yàn)橛泻芏嗳耸敲と��！?br /> 以后的幾年里，她又問(wèn)了我?guī)状�，但她總是回答：“不�?duì)，不過(guò)，孩子，你一年比一年聰明了�！� 去年我祖父去世，大家都悲痛不已。每一個(gè)人都在哭泣。輪到我們向祖父做最后的告別時(shí)，媽媽看著我，問(wèn)我：“孩子，你知道身體最重要的部位了嗎？” 她在這時(shí)候問(wèn)我這個(gè)問(wèn)題，嚇了我一大跳。我一直以為這是我和她之間的小游戲。她看我一臉迷惑，對(duì)我說(shuō)：“這個(gè)問(wèn)題很重要，它是你真正開(kāi)始生活的標(biāo)志�！蔽铱此裏釡I盈眶。她說(shuō)：“親愛(ài)的，你身體最重要的部位是你的肩膀�！� 我問(wèn)道：“是因?yàn)樗苤晤^嗎？” 她回答道：“不，是因?yàn)槲覀兊呐笥�、我們所�?ài)的人哭泣的時(shí)候，它可以讓他們把頭靠在那兒。親愛(ài)的，每個(gè)人在一生中都會(huì)有需要一個(gè)可以靠著哭泣的肩膀的時(shí)候。我只是希望你有足夠的愛(ài)心和朋友，這樣在你需要的時(shí)候，你總可以找到一個(gè)倚靠著哭泣的肩膀�！� 從那時(shí)起，我知道身體最重要的部位不是利己的部位，而是能感受得到別人的痛苦的部位。 注釋?zhuān)? 1. deaf adj.聾的 2. attempt n.努力，嘗試，企圖 3. contemplate vt. 思忖，仔細(xì)、長(zhǎng)久地考慮 4. couple n. ［口］（少數(shù)）幾個(gè)，兩三個(gè) 5. shocked adj.震驚的，震撼的 6. confusion n.混淆，心里混亂的狀態(tài) 7. well up 涌出，涌現(xiàn) 8. hold up 舉起，支撐 9. selfish adj.自私的 10.sympathetic adj.感應(yīng)的，同情的 [ 來(lái)自科研家族 夢(mèng)里的棉花糖 ] |
