A postdoctoral position from the University of Bordeaux is available in the "Molecular Magnetic Materials" group at the Centre de Recherche Paul Pascal (Bordeaux, France). The research project will deal with the functionalization of magnetic coordination complexes and networks by mesogenic groups to organize the resulted molecular assemblies into liquid crystal phases. New magnetic coordination complexes based on organic radicals will also be synthesized.The properties (magnetism, electrochemistry, optics) of the resulted hydrid systems and the possible synergy between the properties of the molecular components will be thoroughly studied. The candidate should have good competences in organic and/or coordination chemistry (synthesis of ligands, molecular characterization techniques). Knowledge in single crystal X-ray diffraction, magnetism or mesophases will also be much appreciated. The duration of the contract is 1 year.
