7.3. Feedstock – Scraps, Billets and Iron Ore Deposits. Steel making activities are mainly through Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) and induction furnaces. Scrap is locally sourced from the internal market with additional quantities reportedly coming in from Congo and Burundi. As most of the scrap is used in the production of reinforced bars and some quantities of light sections, it is estimated that scrap grade of 70:30 is being used. Major complaints by the local mills is that scrap supplies are erratic and have caused intermittent stoppages to the mills concerned; and the grades delivered to the plants require extensive pre-sorting. As for iron ores, little is reported to be used in the cement industry where some quantities of float material in and around Kisoro are being used in producing special grade cement. In as far as iron ore deposits are concerned, availability of reasonable quantities of hematite and magnetite have attracted local Iron Ore production resulting into escalation in the average value and sales of the iron ore since 2009. Iron ore production has grown rapidly from 971.95 tonnes recorded in 2009 to 3,231.84 tonnes in 2010 (Table 7.3). |

供料：廢料（鐵屑），坯錠和鐵礦石層（礦床） 鋼鐵業(yè)的活動(dòng)主要是通過電弧爐以及感應(yīng)爐（進(jìn)行的）。廢料（鐵屑）從國內(nèi)的市場來，另外據(jù)報(bào)道，有一部分來自剛果和布隆迪。因?yàn)榇蠖鄶?shù)的廢料（鐵屑）都用在了鋼筋以及小型型鋼的生產(chǎn)中，估計(jì)70：30等級的廢料（鐵屑）正在被使用。（總感覺比例比等級好一些，但是GRADE 沒這意思貌似。。。）來自地方的銑削廠（工廠）的主要抱怨是廢料（鐵屑）的供應(yīng)并不穩(wěn)定，會(huì)有間歇性的中斷，而這也是他們最為擔(dān)心的。供應(yīng)到工廠原料等級也不好，需要經(jīng)過大量的預(yù)選過程。 至于鐵礦石，在水泥工業(yè)中的應(yīng)用的報(bào)道很少。水泥工業(yè)中，烏干達(dá)的KISORO城市里以及附近的一些浮子材質(zhì)的材料正在被用于生產(chǎn)特殊等級的水泥。對于鐵礦石層，數(shù)量合理的可用的赤鐵礦和磁鐵礦已經(jīng)吸引了當(dāng)?shù)罔F礦業(yè)的注意，使他們自從2009年以來，鐵礦石業(yè)務(wù)和銷售有了大幅上升。鐵礦石的生產(chǎn)已經(jīng)迅速地從2009年記錄的971.95噸，增長到了2010年的3231.84噸（表3） |
