The project mainly conducted experimental and numerical simulation research for the internal and external flow passage of the impace sprinkler. The studied object is the PY series impact sprinkler. Based on the steady-state and unsteady-state internal flow tests of the PY1-40 impact sprinkler fixed with different combinations of flow straighteners and nozzles, some mathematical models describing the pressure loss within the internal passage, sprinkler flow rate with the structural parameters of the internal passage and inlet working pressure were established. The 3-D turbulent flow model and numerical simulation method for the internal flow passage of the PY1-40 impact sprinkler were presented. Several simulations of internal flow passage with different flow straighteners as well as without flow straightener were investigated and compared with experiments. By using the high speed photography technique, an experiment study on the movement characteristics of the PY1-30 and PY1-40 impact sprinkler's swing arm was conducted and some important movement parameters both in the positive and reverse rotations were obtained. A 2-D numerical simulation on the external flow and the driven spoon's mechanical properties of the impact sprinkler was established. A preliminary simulation on the generation and change of the water droplet was obtained. A finite-element method for solving the dynamic stress distribution of the swing arm was established. Several cases with different rotating angular velocities and with or without the rubber pad fixed on the sprinkler tube's limit stop were investigated. The simulated results were very close to the measured and calclulated data. |
