這個(gè)導(dǎo)師很認(rèn)真地回復(fù)了我女友，而且說的很多東西我們覺得比較中肯，但是這里導(dǎo)師本人愿不愿意帶的意愿不是很明顯，大家說說有木有戲？ I've received your query (below) regarding potential entry to our PhD programme. We have a formal application process for potential PhD candidates, described on our departmental website at http://www.business.otago.ac.nz/mgmt/study/postgrad.html#PhD The university has more general information about PhD admissions for international candidates at http://www.otago.ac.nz/international/postgraduate/ There are numerous scholarships available for PhD study... you'll find links to them on the websites above. Most of our PhD students are on scholarships that pay their costs and a living allowance. These are genuine scholarships (not work-study arrangements where you are required to teach or do research on behalf of a faculty member). Given your apparently high grades / achievements, you should have a good chance at receiving one of these. Because we receive a large number of applicants, we have developed a process to help us identify the most suitable candidates. This process involves numerous steps; some information on these is on our website at both department and university levels. A key determinant of the outcome of the process is recognition of a suitable master's qualification. Your master's in process should qualify - but the evaluation of it, and the exact nature of any required adjustments or remedies, would be determined by our PhD admissions office and process, not by individual faculty members. The PhD is a university-level degree, not a departmental one, hence the initial controls are at the university level. Our departmental contact person for PhD applications is XXXX. If you're interested in proceeding, I suggest you examine the websites above and then email her. In terms of your implied inquiry as to whether I could be your supervisor: My areas of teaching responsibility, accompanied by my areas of research degree supervision, have been changing over time. Based on what I see on your CV, there is potentially enough overlap from your past with my direction and supervision allowances, but it's hard to say much as you haven't included a proposal or statement of intended research area. I can say that my supervision capacity is approaching its limit, given that two is normal and I have four in process with three potential local applicants reserving some of my future availability. Our policy limiting supervisions, both in number and in topic area, is to ensure the best results for the students, and matches our government guidelines about supervision of nternational PhD students (at least two suitable supervisors are required; they must be research-active within the designated field of study and have available capacity). Thus, my ability to supervise you would depend both on your qualifications and proposal, and on how many prior commitments I am engaged in when your application becomes viable (e.g., after your master's degree has been completed and you thesis has been examined). Your goal should be to find several potential supervisors whose interests closely match yours - particularly what you have done in the past, if that is to be a basis for your future - and then ascertain whether they have any available capacity to add supervisees. This is a relationship we take very seriously, so the "hunt" is expected to take some time before a workable match is found. You should check the website of our department staff, as well as those in other departments, to see if any other relevant supervisors might be available. |

個(gè)人覺得 這個(gè)老師挺好的 但是他的意思是很委婉的說不想supervise你吧 他告訴了你申請(qǐng)的流程（這些是模版） 然后說不確定是否supervise你（沒有你的rp） 然后說他手里已經(jīng)有四個(gè)申請(qǐng)者，有三個(gè)差不多已經(jīng)要了，而一般情況只能supervise兩個(gè)PhD學(xué)生 最后在肯定你的條件的基礎(chǔ)上，好心的建議你去看看其他的導(dǎo)師。 所以個(gè)人建議是，雖然這個(gè)老師沒直接拒絕你，但是希望真的不是很大，還是換人吧，沒必要在這里糾纏浪費(fèi)時(shí)間了。 |
