偶爾看到一個(gè) PhD position in ETH related to the Topic of Phosphorous in organic agriculture,希望這個(gè)帖子可以遇到需要的人Employer: ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, www.ethz.ch) Affiliation: Group of Plant Nutrition (www.plantnutrition.ethz.ch); close collaboration with the Soil Unit of the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) (www.fibl.org) Workplace: ETH Research Station Lindau(www.ias.ethz.ch/researchstation/eschikon) Job description: We are looking for a highly motivated, team-oriented PhD student to work in a new project called "Improved phosphorus resource efficiency in organic agriculture via Recycling and enhanced biological mobilization (IMPROVE-P)”. The project is funded by the CORE Organic II European transnational research cooperation and will be realized by eight partners from six European countries. The project’s overall goal is to design improved phosphorus (P) Recycling systems for organic farming, including: (i) enhanced P recycling using secondary P fertilizers as alternative P fertilizers, (ii) higher plant P use efficiency due to enhanced agronomic measures, and (iii) improved P availability to plants by application of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPB). We as Swiss partners will contribute especially to the work package on the “Evaluation of efficiency and potential environmental impacts of alternative P fertilizers”, and the work package on “Improved P mobilization by adoption of agronomic measures and addition of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria”. Chemical and physico-chemical methods will be used to characterize P forms and availability of alternative P fertilizers. Plant growth studies will be conducted in the greenhouse to determine the P uptake by plants from these fertilizers using P Radioisotope techniques. The PhD will also be involved in experiments where PGPB are being tested, and in the on farm evaluation of P management in organic farms.
