【W(wǎng)eekly topic】Do you think a quiet environment is necessary for studying?

|
It is said that the environment is of great importance to the creature to live. So as a superior animal in this world, a good environment is much correlated with our happiness of living. For a better life in this competitive society, high knowledge storage takes the charge of most part of it. What decides the volume of the storage is the efficiency of study. To the efficiency of study, there are factors which have visual influence on it, such as man’s talent, material’s quality, emotion of man, and the one we called a quiet environment. People said a good quite environment is good for studying, mostly because it makes you concentrate on one thing. But there are some exceptions which make me very confused, because for their efficiency of study they need some noisy environment. It was a weird people who was my senior high school deskmate, he was the one who need a little noise environment to help him to learn. In order to achieve his purpose, he would spare no effort to make people talk with him. And believe it or not, his performance in math was great. There was a time i adored him so much that i decided to imitate his unique way of study, and after that i just thought he was a legend. Another example is about me, a very quiet environment is not suitable to me of my high efficiency of study. I would give some evidences here: firstly, i fall asleep when i study alone in a very quite place, so i can’t study at home. Secondly, i learn something very fast when some guys with me and a little noise here. But the problem is i will have no mind to study if the noise is a little bigger. So maybe it’s to me is the well moderated noise. As we all know, a good place to study is library, in which you can get the highest efficiency of study. Why? We know the study atmosphere works. So, it seems a quiet environment isn’t very necessary for studying as long as there were good study atmosphere there. It’s all about my personal opinion. So, my dear worms, what about you? So is it my habit of learning psychology which make me try to explain everything in psychologist's eyes? Your question is one of the primary puzzles in education psychology that cares mostly about how human being learn and teach. through we learning what has happened in our mind? what factors contribute our effective learning. how our learning behavoir established? Everyone yearns for happy and high efficiency learning. But it is not easy. Because there are so many clues to distract our attention. We average people find it hard to facus something for long time. because of the indiviual difference, you might feel confused for others surprising tolerance of noise. Everyone has developed some habit such as cogniton characteristic unconsicously. One can easily find something in a complex picture but others feel tough. Similarly, if there are some disturbing, someone might turn a blind eye on it whilst others can be senstive to noise and get angry and can not work on. But on a normal level, one should learn in a quiet place because even if you are ingoring the interfecing, your unconsicous part is still recieving the simulate but you are not aware of it which will ruin your efficiency to some extent. |

| sometimes the quiet environment can be useful to me ,but it does not, for example, when i need to practice listening , the quiet environment is able to help me work well. However, i need not it when i recite English words,phrases or articles. |

Once I always listen to the music when I study. it seems to be that I cant learn it without music.but finally I find I cant concentrate on my attention when I am in bad emotion. the mood is the root of my study. It depends on what kind of person you are and what the time it is.AS for me,when I am calm and stay focused on my study, nothing can distract me,but if there is something I cannot sit down or study efficiently. quiet atmosphere is essential for me to study,i will be agitated and i can't fix my attention on my learning if someone makes noisy around me . i never study in my dormitory ,for what my roommates talk about may become another form of attractive noise it will interrupt my thought process and throwing me out of the flow. however,one of my roommembers can be immune to any noises when she is studying ,so she always stayed in dorm and become our gatekeeper  |

| i would like study in the library,because i will feel guilty when i picked up my celephone and played games.Teaching building is also a good choice,a class with five to ten people is perfect to study,you will not feel longly or too noisy.when study alone,i will fall in sleep soon....it seems that everyone has this bad habit. |

| I cannot concentrate in the envionment with a lot of noise especially people's chating,but i often enjoy the studying time while listening to the soothing music. |

| Personally, I agree with the opinion from your desk mate, the most memorial moment during the undergraduate period is studying the library quietly, now I am in the second year in the graduate school now, i have few chance to studying in a place quietly, there is always something or someone disturbed me, but now I think it is normal, because we are getting older and should also do somethings for others, It mean we are not just living for ourselves. We should lend some help to others although it will waste some of your time. |

i agree on the opinion that the environment is very important. when i was a pupil，i liked listen to radio when write homework. Then in the Middle school, i have a very quiet environment to study,and i think this is a key factor lead me to be a college student. now i am a undergraduate student, there are a lot of things i should do. i have little time and good environment to think, i should adjust to the variety environment, so can i to be myself!
