| Natural resveratrol oligomers, commonly consisting of two to eight resveratrols, are attracting increasing interest across the world due to their intriguing structures and pharmacological potential. Resveratrol oligomers provide dazzling chemical diversities with regard to the degree and pattern of oligomer polymerization, as well as stereochemistry. Most resveratrol oligmers possess antioxidant activities because they have polyphenol functions in the molecular and have been considered to be promising new sources of natural antioxidant. However, resveratrol oligomers have been isolated from a relatively small assemblage of plant families. Diterocarpaceae, Gnetaceae and Vitaceae constitute a significant number of oligstilbenes. |
