[求助] 關于PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS投稿已有3人參與

投了篇文章，不太懂編輯的意思，尤其是這句 “only if it makes a transparent and compelling case for publication in
PRL, as opposed to a more specialized journal.”？下一步應該干嘛，，，回復意見如下：
Dear Dr. ****,

We have considered your submission to Physical Review Letters. We ask
you to respond to the comments below before we proceed further.

We make no judgment on the correctness or technical aspects of your
work.  From our understanding of the paper's physics results, context,
and motivation, it is not clear to us why it would meet our criteria of
impact, innovation, and interest.  Our criteria require a clear justification
for consideration of the paper by PRL, rather than by a specialized
journal. Your work appears better suited for submittal to the latter.

We would be willing to consider a revised version of your paper, but
only if it makes a transparent and compelling case for publication in
PRL, as opposed to a more specialized journal. but

委婉據(jù)稿唄，要么修改后重新投，要么改投其他雜志。
第一段話說你的文章不適合他們的要求，你的文章更適合專業(yè)期刊。
第二段話說你可以修改重投，但是得改的更適合他們的要求

這個是助理編輯給的信件。還沒有送出去審，因為他們覺得你的稿子更合適專業(yè)期刊而不是PRL。
如果你可以很好的指出為何你的稿子適合PRL，他們可以（如果被你說服了的話）有一位副主編決定考慮是否送出去外審。
簡而言之，好好寫個東西解釋你這個工作無比巨牛，他們再考慮是否送審。

編輯要你修改，重點是突出物理和創(chuàng)新。你最好認真修改，可能就一次機會，如果編輯還不滿意的話，就沒機會了。

我想你應該也寫了cover letter，是不是沒寫清楚？
