新加坡科技設計大學(SUTD)為新加坡與麻省理工(MIT)和浙江大學合作新建的研究型大學,學校主頁 http://www.sutd.edu.sg/index.aspx 博士生待遇優(yōu)厚 : • 免學費 • 每月獎學金3000新幣(約合人民幣1萬4千9百),為新加坡最高獎學金。 • 博士期間另有2萬新幣供參加學術會議和訪學用。 • 博士期間將有機會去往麻省理工學院(MIT)交流半年。 更多博士生的信息見 http://www.sutd.edu.sg/phd_application.aspx 主要研究方向: 理論研究新型低維材料和拓撲材料的物理性質,包括拓撲絕緣體,拓撲超導體,石墨烯等二維層狀材料;自旋電子學;量子輸運; 申請者背景: 理論物理或計算物理的本科或碩士畢業(yè)生,最好具有數(shù)值計算的經驗與技能,會使用Origin等軟件畫美觀的圖,能熟練使用MatLab,有第一性原理計算經驗的研究生優(yōu)先考慮。 歡迎有意向2015年1月或者9月入學的申請人與楊老師聯(lián)系,將簡歷發(fā)至 shengyuan_yang@sutd.edu.sg 導師簡介: Dr. Shengyuan Yang was from the city of Nanjing in the east part of China. After one year’s study in the Electrical Engineering program of Tsinghua University, he was awarded the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship and transferred to study Mathematics/Physics at The University of Hong Kong. He graduated with First Class Honours in 2005. Then he joined the condensed matter theory group at The University of Texas at Austin and obtained his Ph.D. in physics degree in 2011. Dr. Yang’s research is mainly on the magnetic and transport properties of nanostructures and novel materials. The topics that he has worked on include electronic properties of 2D materials such as graphene and silicene, topological insulators, electromotive force induced by magnetic dynamics, theory of optical second harmonic generation, pumping effects in quantum dot structures, design of magnetic nano-devices, the effects of disorder scattering on transport and magnetic properties. He worked as an imaging geophysicist in CGG (US) Services at Houston from 2011 to 2013.
