The novel magnetic nanocomposites with the special stoichiometries of Ba0.34Sr0.34Cd0.16Zn0.16Fe12O19 (S1) and Ba0.69Sr0.17Cd0.07Zn0.07Fe12O19 (S2) were successfully synthesized by the self-assembly reflux procedure. EDTA was used as a complexing agent to prepare these magnetic ferrite nanoparticles with a uniform morphology. The excellent crystallinity of the samples was provided via the calcination planning at 450 and 850 C for 2 h. The prepared ferrite nanocomposites indicated the high saturation magnetization of 66.59 and 65.09 emu/g. In addition, the resulting products revealed excellent microwave absorbing properties at the frequency range of 8–12 GHz. The maximum reflection losses of 25 and 35 dB were measured for samples (S1) and (S2) after calcination at 850 C with an optimum thickness of 2.1 mm,respectively. The results showed that the increase of calcination temperature to 850 C improves the microwave absorbing properties of the prepared absorbers. These results can be due to establishment of the crystallinity of ferrite structure and arrangement of the particles in nanoscale with the average sizes of 43 and 38 nm, respectively. Therefore, these synthesized ferrite composites can be applied as a microwave absorber for EMI shielding. |
