RESULTS AND DISCUSSION Fig. 1 represents the RUL curves of four specimens. The specimen A with spinel has not been affected by loadinduced softening, whereas Specimen B, C and D containing magnesia began to be softened at around 1150℃. It is judged that the softening was caused by the influence of microsilica, and the reason why the softening of the three specimens (B, C and D) occurred at the similar temperature was that even small amount of microsilica had a great effect on the RUL1) due to the formation in liquid phase. However, the inclines of RUL become moderate because the expansion was suppressed by the formation in liquid phase as the microsilica contentsincreased. Fig. 1.
