PhD/Master Students at Singapore University of Technology and Design

PhD and Master Studentship positions are currently available in the group of A/P Joel K.W. Yang at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). http://epd.sutd.edu.sg/faculty/joel-yang/ SUTD is a new university in Singapore that was established in collaboration with MIT and Zhejiang University to be world-class in Technology and Design. http://www.sutd.edu.sg/index.aspx We are looking for top-notch candidates, who share the passion and enthusiasm in nano-scale research. Both master students or final year undergraduate students are welcome. Particularly, these are the key research interests of the group: 1. Nanoplasmonics: high-resolution color printing, electrical-excitation of plasmons, field-enhanced fluorescence 2. Nanofabrication: sub-10-nm resolution electron-beam lithography and nanoparticle self assembly 3. Novel Devices: photodetectors and nano light-emitting devices based on plasmonics and self assembly Experience with Physics, Electromagnetism and engineering courses, and relevant cleanroom experience would be useful, but not necessary. Basic ability to communicate in English will be necessary. Attractive student scholarships are also available and can be offered subject to the calibre of the candidate.
