PhD scholarship in condensed matter physics and material physics

PhD student Scholarship (皇家墨爾本理工大學(xué)) in condensed matter physics and material physics. Associate Professor Lan WANG in Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University) Australia. Email:lan.wang@rmit.edu.au Research interests focus on electron and spin transport in new quantum materials, including topological insulator, oxide heterojunctions,etc. We grow single crystal, thin film, and nano materials. We use photolithography and electron beam lithography to fabricate novel electronic and spintronic devices based on these novel material systems. Our aim is to study the physics of the novel materials and devices, design and manufacture the prototype spintronic devices of the next generation. English requirements are listed below (fulfill one of the requirements). IELTS - 6.5+ (no band less than 6) TOEFL - Paper based = 580+ (TWE 4.5+) TOEFL - Internet based iBT = overall score of 92 with minimum of 20 in any sections REW - English for Academic Purposes Advanced 2 There are many advanced instruments in the physics discipline in the school of applied sciences at RMIT University, including TEM, SEM, AFM, PFM, XPS, E-beam, lithgraphy etc. Devices will be fabricated in the material structure characterizing center of physics and the central clean room of RMIT University。 Associate Prof Lan WANG received a PhD of physics at the National University of Singapore in 2001 and a PhD of material sciences at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2005. He worked as an assistant professor at Nanyang Technology University from 2006-2014. He joined the school of Applied Sciences at RMIT Unviersity as an associate professor in 2014. He has published more than 80 papers, including papers in PRL, Nature Comm, PRB, APL, etc |
