PhD projects will be available in one or more of AITHM’s key research areas: Theme A. Re-emerging infectious diseases, vectors and Australia’s health security; Theme B. Health Systems Research; Theme C. Chronic Diseases with high prevalence in Tropical Australia; Theme D. Molecular Development of Therapeutics; Theme E. Genetic and epigenetic aspects of disease; Theme F. Occupational Health and Safety. How to Apply Closing date: 28 February 2015 Interested applicants are invited to submit an AITHM 2015 PhD Scholarship Expression of Interest. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to discuss possible projects with potential supervisors and submit an application for candidature for Higher Degree by Research to James Cook University. Dependent on PhD project, candidates will be able to undertake their studies in either Townsville or Cairns. Candidates should be highly motivated, and are expected to be involved in cutting-edge research that they will present at national and international conferences, and publish in high-ranking journals. Value: $28,000 per annum Duration: 3 years full time Eligibility: Bachelors degree with at least Class Ia or IIa honours, or a Masters degree with a research component or equivalent. Applications welcomed from Australian and New Zealand citizens/ permanent residents and international applicants.
