The carbonyl signal, which was not seen after 140 C treatment, supports the formation of cyclic amide. In contrast to the good solubility of ( 6), preparing benzoxazine ( 7) in chloroform (Run 8) and toluene/ethanol (Runs 9e10) results in powder precipitate (not gelation) after 1 h due to the poor solubility of ( 7), which limits the purity of ( 7). |
