As an essential electrical equipment, the power transformer plays a key role in the power system,serving as power transformation hub. Huge economic loss will be caused once the transformer fault occurs. Differential protection (DP) is the major protection for the transformer, and according to the long-term operation experience, DP can sensitively to distinguish the internal and external faults. However in the processes of no-load closing or clearing external faults, the magnetizing rush current will occur, which will cause the misoperation of DP.
