| Al-Zn-Mg alloys are widely used in aerospace fields due to high strength and good weldability.Adding scandium and zirconium to Al-Zn-Mg alloys can improve it’s strength and weldability further according to the literature and our previous study.However, the reports about the effects of adding scandium and zirconium to the corrosion performance of Al-Zn-Mg alloy Friction Stir Welding (FSW) joint are less, which greatly limits the engineering application of new scandium-containing Al-Zn-Mg alloys.The FSW joints of high-strength Al-Zn-Mg and Al-Zn-Mg-0.23Sc-0.10Zr alloy sheet wre investigated in the study..The major experiment were comparing the intergranular corrosion, exfoliation corrosion and stress corrosion and electrochemical behavior of the FSW joints, then characterizing it’s microstructure with optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy. The purpose was to reveal the effects of adding scandium and zirconium to the corrosion performance of Al-Zn-Mg alloy. This could provide theoretical and experimental basis for engineering applications of Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloys. |
