Although carbon and silicon belong to the same group,and both element can form the chain macromolecule of which the backbone is constructed by the same single elements. However, the σbone of carbon chain is a kind of localized band, so very high energy is needed to stimulate electrons jumping from ground state to excited state; while for the silicone polymer, due to the increase of radius of atom on main chain that may enlarge the likelihood of bond polarization, as well as the 3D electronic empty orbital possessed by silicon atom, it can easily occur an extensive delocalization of electrons and 3D orbital σ-σ* transition, thus greatly affecting the optical-electrical characteristic of polysilane, and making it become a new-type of photoelectric material. |
